    Clear the work area

    Remove all objects from the floor and bench that are not needed for this job.

    Done when:The floor and bench are clear. You can move around freely.

    Set up the work stand

    Position the bicycle work stand and lock it at the correct height for you.

    Done when:The bike stands stable at a comfortable working height.

    Why:A stable bike prevents it falling while you work.

    Lay out the tools

    Place only the tools you need for this job on the bench. Put them in order of use.

    Done when:All required tools are on the bench and easy to reach.

    Put on your safety glasses

    Put on safety glasses before working on the bicycle.
